Prep Time:5 minutes

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2-3 Teaspoon Blueberry Jam Or 3 Tbsp. Blueberries + 2 tsp. sugar
  • ½ Cup Milk of choice
  • 1 Teaspoon Matcha powder
  • 2-3 Tablespoon Water (around 50 ml.)
  • Ice cubes (Optional)

Instructions

Prepare blueberry layer following one of these options:

  • A- If using blueberry jam:
Mix the blueberry jam with the milk. You may do this directly in the cup, using a spoon or a handheld frother (this second option makes it quicker and easier).

  • B- If using fresh or frozen blueberries:
Microwave them with sweetener of choice and 1 Tablespoon water until tender (it takes around 30 seconds). Then mash with a spoon and if desired, strain.
Add milk (warm of cold, depending on what you prefer).
Making an easy and quick blueberry syrup in the microwave
  • Prepare a matcha shot by whisking or shaking the matcha powder with a little amount of water.
Matcha concentrate to make matcha latte
  • When the matcha is evenly distributed and has some build a fine layer of foam, add it into the blueberry milk.

Notes

  • Feel free to increase the amount of jam or sweetener to taste.
  • If you want your drink to have two layers (pastel purple and green), assemble following this steps: blueberry latte - ice cubes - matcha tea (aiming at an ice cube helps).
  • For three layers (intense purple - white - green), assemble: blueberry jam or microwaved “syrup” - ice cubes - milk - matcha concentrate.
  • You may prepare this drink hot or iced: both taste great.
To make it warm, heat the milk. Just take into consideration that layering doesn’t work when the latte is warm.
