2inchesGinger root(15 gr.) - use less if you want a milder tea
2cupsWater
2Tbsp.Lemon juice(approximately the juice of 1 lemon)
2-3Tbsp.HoneyFeel free to adapt to taste
Instructions
Wash the ginger root piece you will use and peel it by scraping the outer skin with the back of a teaspoon. You may also skip the peeling step (look in Notes for details)
Grate* the ginger and pour boiling water over it. Let it steep for around 5 minutes. The longer it steeps, the stronger it will taste.
Strain, then add a lemon juice, sweeten and enjoy! It’s best served warm, but you can also enjoy it cold if preferred.
Notes
I prefer peeling the ginger because it makes it easier to grate and also I find it releases its taste better, but ginger skin is edible.*If you don’t have a grater, you may slice your ginger root or cut it into small chunks: in this case, you might need more ginger, steep if for longer or cook it for 5 minutes (instead of just steeping it).Feel free to adjust the amount the ingredients according to your personal taste.
