Total Time:7 minutes

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Almond milk 250 ml.
  • ½ Avocado around 70-80 gr.
  • 1 Pear
  • Vanilla extract or vanilla powder To taste
  • 1 Cup Strawberries 100 gr.
  • 1 tsp. Matcha powder

Instructions

  • Wash the pear and cut into dices (you can peel it or leave the skin; both options work).
Blend it with the avocado flesh, almond milk and vanilla. I’ll call this mixture “smoothie base”

  • Blend the other half of pear-avocado smoothie base with the matcha.
Smoothie with matcha green tea powder
  • Put 1-2 ice cubes over the strawberry smoothie and pour the matcha smoothie aiming to an ice cube to get a layered look.
If you don’t mind both combining, you can skip it.

Notes

About layering this smoothie:
In my experience, even when using frozen strawberries, the smoothie isn’t so thick that it stays layered without the help of 1-2 ice cubes.
But I don’t know if using all frozen ingredients (frozen pear, frozen avocado) or eventually blending ice in (many people like adding ice to their smoothies) could be enough to get layers without using ice cubes.
Since I don’t like my smoothies too cold, I carefully remove the ice cubes with a spoon once I have the desired layered look.
